Post pandemic, as humanity navigates through tough times, a vast majority would assert that it is this basic function that singularly influences our health, our happiness and our future.
From inhaling steam infused with herbs, performing Pranayam, practising Jaldharas and last, but not the least, wearing a face mask, humanity has been experimenting ways to breathe better.
Clearly, the COVID-19 virus has taken the breath away from our lives and lifestyles and drastically altered the world around us.
On the flipside, however, it has strengthened the relationship between humanity and nature.
From fabric to fashion to food, there is a transformational leap towards environment-friendly, sustainability, and organic only.
A growing community of conscientious people has chosen to detox their dietary choices, steer away from synthetic fabric, toxic dyes and instead indulge in healthy living practices.
Put simply, nature has hit a reset button.
We at Breethe…Care Couture, aim to sensitize the community to stay in harmony with nature and contribute to the change by encouraging use of breathable, bio-degradable fabrics and eco-friendly dyes.
The choices we make and our collective actions to make a meaningful change, to preserve our environment and the ecosystem around us will determine the course of our civilization.
It is our endeavour to build a better today and a beautiful tomorrow which will leave a lasting legacy on the health and well-being of the people and our planet.

Origin
Breethe was born out of the need to be creatively useful during the Covid-19 crisis.
It all began in Bengaluru, India in April 2020, as the world slipped into quarantine and locked itself up, offering precious moments to contemplate and think creatively.
Confined at home and faraway from family and friends, Geetika Yeshwantrao, a student of fashion design with the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Bengaluru, India was eager to make a meaningful difference.
Made to shell out an astronomical amount charged for a flimsy face mask then, a decision was firmed up to stitch the face masks, the one product which was then scarce and was termed as a life-saver.
From here on began the battle with unforeseen challenges.
Sourcing fabric and other essentials were just about impossible as curfew orders forced a complete closure.
Following a month-long wait, a small quantity of white cotton fabric and elastic band was purchased from the retail store which opened shutters briefly during the day.
Using turmeric powder, coffee beans, avocado, beetroot, marigold flowers and onion skin, a range of dyes were prepared at home and the white fabric was soaked for hours in multiple vessels and washed and dried twice to ensure color retention.
A first set of 10 masks, hand-stitched and home-dyed, was given to my local guardian, Karthik uncle, whose kind words of encouragement and appreciation inspired a repeat of the experiment.
The second set of masks, embellished with hand-stitched embroidery and provided with sachets carrying small portion of aromatic condiments to eliminate the odour of breath, also fetched positive feedback.
After several such home experiments, it was decided to scale up the making of masks using natural fabric and sensitize people to build a sustainable relationship between nature and humanity.

Inspired by the treasures of mother nature, our face masks are spun from unique fabrics drawn from the raw fibers of rose petals, lotus stalk, bamboo trees, solidified milk strands and aloe vera fiber and colored with natural dyes.
The use of naturally beautiful fabric and non-toxic dyes will completely eliminate inhaling air through the ubiquitous synthetic fabrics which are dyed in strong chemicals.
We are guided by our vision to create a sustainable positive impact and blend ethical fashion with breathable fabrics using natural dyes.
It is not just about creating a natural clothing label. It is about caring for our planet and our people.
